The MIA-type Deadend Insulator was developed for use in distribution networks at voltages of 15, 27, and 38 kV.
It is composed of an epoxy resin core reinforced with fiberglass, encased in a silicone rubber compound, and fixed to the connection hardware through radial compression. The hardware can be made of forged steel or hot-dip galvanized cast iron, in accordance with STANDARD NBR 6323.
