The Type MB Unipolar Switch was developed for operation in substations with voltages of 15, 27, and 38 kV, and currents ranging from 630 to 3150 A.
These switches are primarily used for the interruption and maintenance of substations. They are capable of withstanding short circuits due to their robust construction. The switches can be supplied with or without fixing support, suitable for single or double crossheads.
They are constructed on hot-dip galvanized steel U-profile beams.
The insulators used are of the gray vitrified porcelain pillar type.
The blades are made of high-conductivity electrolytic copper and are arranged in parallel, providing enhanced mechanical resistance to high short-circuit currents.
The contacts are of the high-pressure self-cleaning type, featuring stainless steel springs and safety locking devices.
The terminals are made of copper alloy with a tinned finish and adhere to the NEMA drilling pattern.
The design complies with ABNT / ANSI / IEC standards.
