The MTP Rotary Vertical Opening Disconnect Switch was developed to operate in substations and in a wide range of power distribution switching applications, for voltage classes from 145 kV up to 245 kV.
The vertical opening (VO) disconnect switch consists of three insulator columns, with the central column being rotary and responsible for operating the blades, while the two lateral columns remain fixed and support the blades.
The switch phases are mounted on a steel tubular base*. Cast aluminum parts and stainless steel components complement its construction, ensuring maximum safety and robustness of the equipment. The use of adjustable profiles between the three phases ensures proper fixation, and the insulators are made of porcelain.
The support structure, base, and other metallic parts are manufactured from hot-dip galvanized steel, in accordance with NBR 6323.
The equipment can be supplied according to customer requirements, suitable for installation on either concrete foundations or metallic structures.
The disconnect switch can be operated either manually or by motorized actuation, using a control panel equipped with several auxiliary contact blocks. Additionally, electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical interlocking devices can be supplied as required.
Maurizio Three-Phase Disconnect Switches are tested and approved in compliance with IEC 62271 / NBR 7571 and ANSI C37-32.2002 standards.
