The Polymeric Disconnector Switch type MSDC was developed to operate in distribution networks, at voltages of 15.27 and 38 kV and at currents of 400 to 630A.
They are used in most cases for interruption and maintenance of distribution networks and branches. Capable of withstanding short circuits, due to its construction.
The insulators used are of the support type and may be supplied in polymeric material (Silicone HTV) or vitrified porcelain in gray color
Supplied with or without fixing support, for simple crossheads.
The Insulator and support used is identical to a Fuse Switch. The knives are manufactured from high conductivity electrolytic copper and their construction feature guarantees mechanical resistance to short-circuit operating currents. The contacts are of the high pressure self-cleaning type with stainless steel springs and safety locking devices.
The terminals are made of electrolytic copper with tin surface treatment by electroplating and NEMA drilling pattern or for WEDGE type connectors.
They have an eye and hook for manual operation using a maneuvering rod or for using a load opening device (loadbuster).
The MSDA type disconnector has a single insulator, making it lighter than one normally used with two insulators.
Project in accordance with ABNT / ANSI / IEC standards.
