The Polymer Fuse Cutout type MZOP (loadbreak) with load opening was developed for operation in distribution networks at voltages of 15, 27, and 38 kV.
It is specifically designed to protect transformers, capacitor banks, primary substations, lines, and branches.
The insulator is constructed with an epoxy resin core reinforced with fiberglass and encased in a silicone rubber compound, resulting in a lower weight and greater creepage distance compared to those typically used in porcelain.
With the Arco Cut device, the versatility of MAURIZIO protective equipment is enhanced, enabling load break operations without the need for special tools.
Its electrical characteristics are similar to those of the Standard MZ-Type Cutout, offering protection against short circuits and overloads by burning the Fuse Link up to the maximum capacity specified in the Fuse Holder.
The load opening device allows the electrician to interrupt the load through a simple operation using a hot stick.
To interrupt the current, the electrician inserts the hot stick into the opening hook of the fuse holder and quickly opens the device.
The operation is independent of the electrician’s speed, as during the opening process, the current is transferred from the upper contact of the switch to a mechanism with a stainless-steel blade, loaded by a spring, where the arc is stretched, cooled, and extinguished.
It can be applied to any three-phase system with a voltage equal to or lower than the switchs maximum operating voltage.
Designed in accordance with ABNT, ANSI, and IEC standards.
